LG Ng Jui Ping spent a total of 30 years with the Singapore Armed Forces. He was Chief of Army from 1990 to 1992 before he served as the Chief of Defence Force from 1992 to 1995.
After his military career, LG NG entered the Singapore civil / private sector and held many senior management positions between 1995 and 2003 including Deputy Chairman of the Central Provident Fund Board, Chairman of Chartered Industries of Singapore, Corporate Advisor to Singapore Technologies, Corporate Advisor to Singapore Technologies Engineering, Chairman of Singapore Technologies Automotive and Chairman of Ordnance Development & Engineering of Singapore.
LG Ng also sits/sat on the board of a number of private / public-listed companies in Singapore as Director or Chairman including Port of Singapore Authority International (second-largest Port Company in the World), Unisteel Technology Limited, Yanlord Land Limited and Pacific-Andes (Holdings) Limited, Chesterton International Property Consultants Pte Ltd and Chairman of Global Voice Group Limited.
